Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Consultant Structural Engineer to support our Property and Buildings Team in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, or Salt Lake City. You will perform structural design under supervision, coordinate with architects and contractors, and grow within a dynamic, compliant organization.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Structural or Civil Engineering, 3–5 years of experience, and an Engineer in Training Certification, with proficiency in ETABS, RAM, SAP, and BIM tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of post-education engineering experience with structural or civil design.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and seismic design procedures.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis and performance-based design.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and project management.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and understand requirements.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and code standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering for design of new and existing structures across residential, institutional, and commercial projects.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients; manage projects and supervise junior engineers.
• Produce data, sketches, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations for reports and presentations.
• Contribute to project coordination via meetings, BIM modeling, and site notebooks/logs.
• Contribute to technical reports and analyses to address design/construction issues.
