Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team in Salt Lake City, UT. You will provide high‑level technical leadership for complex building projects across science, healthcare, commercial, and education sectors, mentoring engineers and ensuring design quality.

You will oversee design across multiple phases, coordinate with owners and subcontractors, prepare plans and cost estimates, and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; PE license required.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience in structural or civil design.
• Master’s Degree and SE license are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply high-level structural engineering techniques across design phases from concept to construction.
• Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates with coordination with owners and clients.
• Oversee cross-functional teams, budgets, hours, and task completion for multiple projects.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards; lead QA/QC.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive project delivery with ethics and professionalism.
• Interact with regulators, subcontractors, and clients to advance project goals.
• Stay current with advanced technologies, BIM methods, and design trends.
