Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Consultant Structural Engineer for Los Angeles, CA, with offices in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City. You will perform structural design on diverse projects under supervision.

Lead junior engineers, coordinate with architects/contractors, and deliver high-quality work on schedule. Requires 3–5 years' post-education experience and an Engineer in Training certification. Salary ranges reflect market norms.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
• Knowledge of seismic design and materials.
• Experience with linear/non-linear finite element analysis and performance-based design.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering work relating to design of concrete, CMU, steel, light-frame wood, and mass timber structures for residential, institutional, and commercial projects.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients, and manage projects independently.
• Produce high-quality deliverables on time and in compliance with codes.
• Develop retrofitting and resilience assessment solutions for existing structures.
• Model, sketches, data visualizations, and 2D/3D illustrations for data interpretation.
