Job summary

Ilocatum in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing building design team. You will design structural systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects, with senior engineers mentoring you and opportunities to lead others.

You will perform analyses for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, coordinate with architects and other engineers, and direct CAD and Revit designers on construction documents while managing multiple projects and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration.
• EIT certification, with a PE license or ability to obtain one in a reasonable timeframe.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and structural design standards.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects.
• Perform analysis and calculations for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
• Develop practical, economical, and innovative design solutions.
• Coordinate with architects and MEP, civil, and geotechnical engineers.
• Direct CAD and Revit designers on construction documents.
• Review drawings for quality and completeness before submission.
• Conduct site visits and field observations.
• Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and support construction administration.
• Manage multiple projects, schedules, and budgets.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000 to $140,000 per year

Design schools, shopping centers, and commercial buildings across Greater Pittsburgh at a growing consulting firm where senior engineers mentor you and you help lead others.

Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration

• PE license
• RAM Structural System / RAM Steel, ENERCALC, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit
• Code knowledge including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, NDS, and TMS
• Construction administration experience
