Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Senior Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA, to lead structural design from concept through construction. You will develop Revit models, prepare construction documents, and coordinate steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, a Civil Engineering degree with structural emphasis, and strong BIM/coordination skills. PE license is preferred or obtainable. On-site role with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis; Master's preferred
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience in commercial/industrial/institutional projects
• Strong proficiency with Revit Structure; AutoCAD a plus
• Experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems
• Knowledge of building codes and structural design standards
• Familiarity with BIM coordination software such as Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, or Bluebeam
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail

Responsibilities

Senior Structural Engineer Responsibilities

• Develop structural Revit models and construction drawing packages with minimal supervision
• Design and coordinate structural systems including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood framing
• Prepare foundation plans, framing plans, sections, details, and construction documents
• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify coordination and constructability issues
• Participate in BIM coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary design reviews
• Support project teams through design revisions, permit comments, RFIs, and as-built documentation
• Maintain drawing quality and compliance with company BIM and drafting standards
• Perform quality control reviews on project deliverables prior to final engineering review
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients throughout the project lifecycle

Senior Structural Engineer Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis (Master's Degree preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain
• Minimum of 5+ years of structural engineering experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional projects
• Strong proficiency with Revit Structure; AutoCAD experience is a plus
