Job summary

Conrad Consulting is partnering with a growing structural engineering firm in New Jersey to hire a Structural Engineer with 3–6 years of experience. You will perform analysis, design, and documentation across steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, taking increasing ownership over projects and client interactions while benefiting from direct mentorship and clear progression paths toward lead roles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • 3–6 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design.
  • Progress toward PE licensure or recently obtained PE license.
  • Strong understanding of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC design standards.
  • Experience using RAM, ETABS, SAP2000 or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood construction.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Self-motivated in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects.
  • Design structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Prepare structural calculations, reports, and supporting engineering documentation.
  • Assist with development of construction drawings and design packages.
  • Coordinate directly with architects, owners, contractors, and external consultants.
  • Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction-phase support activities.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on design solutions and technical problem-solving.
  • Take increasing ownership of project deliverables and client interactions as you develop.

What You'll Bring
