Job summary

Conrad Consulting in New York City is assisting a well‑established structural engineering consultancy to add a licensed PE to its growing team. You will work on mid‑rise and high‑rise building projects, balancing hands‑on design with technical design review, and collaborating with architects, MEPs, and project teams.

You will deliver structural analysis and design, prepare calculations, perform design checks, review drawings, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring NYC Building Code and ASCE

Qualifications

• Must hold Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5–10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong experience designing mid-rise and high-rise building structures.
• Experience performing design reviews and checking the work of other engineers.
• Proficiency with ETABS, RAM Structural System, SAFE, RISA-3D, Revit, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for mid-rise and high-rise building projects.
• Prepare structural calculations for concrete, steel, masonry, and foundations.
• Complete independent design checks and peer reviews for accuracy and code compliance.
• Review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications before submission.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Support project delivery from schematic design through construction administration.
• Perform site visits and respond to construction-phase questions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

We're partnering with a well‑established structural engineering consultancy in New York City that is looking to add a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys both hands‑on design and technical design review, working on a portfolio of challenging mid‑rise and high‑rise building projects.

You'll play a key role in delivering innovative structural solutions while collaborating closely with senior engineers, architects, and project teams from concept through construction.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform structural analysis and design for mid‑rise and high‑rise building projects
• Prepare structural calculations for concrete, steel, masonry, and foundation systems
• Complete independent design checks and peer reviews to ensure technical accuracy and code compliance
• Review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications before project submission
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders
• Support project delivery from schematic design through construction administration
• Perform site visits and respond to construction‑phase engineering questions
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance where appropriate
• Ensure designs comply with NYC Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and other applicable standards

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 5–10 years of structural engineering experience
• Strong experience designing mid‑rise and high‑rise building structures
• Experience performing design reviews and checking the work of other engineers
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, SAFE, RISA‑3D, or similar
• Experience using Revit and AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and foundation design
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
