Job summary

CME Associates in Indianapolis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the HMB team. You will design transportation-related structures, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to project success.

With 5+ years of structural design experience and a PE, you will guide junior staff, prepare cost estimates, and ensure compliance with codes. The role supports a hybrid work model and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• 5+ years of experience in structural design for transportation structures.
• Experience designing bridges, culverts, and walls.
• Experience with project and client management preferred.
• Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design and detailing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency with CAD software (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with structural design software (Bentley LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, MDX, MIDAS).
• DOT project experience preferred.
• Willingness to work on interdisciplinary projects.

• Design of transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements
• Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting & review
• Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and sometimes clients to complete projects
• Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
• Develop engineers cost estimates
• Guide junior staff by providing direction and constructive feedback

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering
• Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
• Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls
• 5+ years of experience in structural design
• Project and / or Client Management experience is preferred
• Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of structural design projects
