Job summary

H&H, a national infrastructure engineering firm with 139+ years of experience, invites a Structural Engineer to join our Annapolis, MD office. You will perform field inspections as a team leader, develop inspection reports, and contribute to bridge design and rehabilitation projects.

Requirements include a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Structural concentration preferred), 3–5 years in transportation projects in the Mid-Atlantic, FHWA/NHI bridge inspection certification, and CAD drawing skills

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Concentration (preferred)
  • Three-five years of experience in transportation projects for State Agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region preferred (MD, DE, DC, VA)
  • FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Certification
  • Previous bridge, culvert, ancillary highway structures, and/or tunnel inspection experience
  • Experience with FHWA Inventory and Element Level data collection
  • OSHA, SPRAT or equivalent training a plus
  • Experience with current AASHTO design specifications, design procedures, bridge standards and details, and structural computer models
  • Ability to develop CAD drawings in Microstation and AutoCAD
  • Good project management, technical writing and communication skills

  • Operate inspection equipment (underbridge inspection vehicles, bucket trucks, access lifts etc)
  • Prepare detailed plans for new and rehabilitation bridge designs
  • Perform engineering design calculations
  • Develop contract specifications, construction cost estimates and preparation of contract bid documents

Benefits


  • Salary range— $80,000-$95,000 annually. Salary commensurate with experience.
