Job summary

Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer-in-Training I or II to join our Larkspur, California Structural Engineering Group. You will work on a broad range of project types and materials, gaining experience in new building design and retrofit investigations.

The role includes calculations, drawings, Construction Administration, and site visits, with collaboration across owners, architects, and contractors. Eligible candidates in the U.S. are welcome; relocation may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
• Has passed FE Examination
• 0-4 years’ experience
• Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on role.
• Master's degree in engineering (desirable)
• ABET accreditation (desirable)
• GPA of 3.5 or higher (desirable)
• Experience with structural design software (AutoDesk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA) (desirable)
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Construction field experience

Responsibilities

• Utilize computer design and graphics software to complete project Construction Documents.
• Study and apply building code, material code and/or jurisdictional requirements to complete project design calculations under supervision.
• Assist Project Manager in Construction Administration, including checking submittals, RFIs, and field observations.
• Communicate and coordinate project design with clients, other team consultants, and contractors.
