Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Huntsville, AL seeks an Engineering Specialist- Aeronautical and Aerospace Structural Engineering to perform structural dynamic analyses for launch vehicles and spacecraft. You will develop simulation tools, assemble coupled models, and mentor team members.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Structural/Aerospace Engineering, 6 years of related experience, FEM software knowledge, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
• 6 years applicable professional or educational experience for the Engineering Specialist level.
• Experience with finite-element model development techniques and software.
• Knowledge of classical vibration and transient response analysis theory.
• Willingness to travel ~5% and to support customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural dynamic analyses and evaluations of launch vehicle and spacecraft loads for all flight phases.
• Develop simulation tools and processes to solve structural dynamics problems.
• Assemble coupled system models across various launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Evaluate predictions versus flight data to improve loads analysis methods.
• Plan and oversee mode survey testing and data quality verification.
