Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Structural Dynamics Engineer to support NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. The role involves developing structural dynamic models, loads for launch vehicles and spacecraft, and conducting simulations using LS-Dyna, NASTRAN, and in-house tools.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams and participation in reviews are expected. The position requires a BS in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil Engineering (MS preferred), 8+ years of experience, and US citizenship

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering; MS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural dynamic models and simulations for Launch Vehicles and Spacecraft.
• Perform Hurty/Craig-Bampton reductions and run in-house/LS-Dyna simulations.
• Develop loads for primary/secondary structures and components.
• Analyze ground and flight test data and prepare post-test analyses.
• Present results to peers, customers, and providers.
