Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Structural Dynamics Engineer (Engineering Specialist/Sr. Engineering Specialist) to provide high‑level analytical and experimental support for space launch and orbital systems.

You will perform structural dynamic analyses, develop simulation tools, and coordinate mode surveys, contributing to the design, development, and operation of spacecraft and launch vehicles. Applicants should have a mechanical/structural/aerospace engineering background, at least 6

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
• 6 years experience in structural dynamics or similar field.
• Experience with finite-element model development techniques and software.
• Knowledge of classical vibration and transient response analysis theory.
• Sound knowledge of Linear Algebra and its application in structural dynamic computations.
• Prior experience with leading teams or performing project management roles.
• Willingness to travel ~5% and support after-hours as needed.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Perform structural dynamic analyses and evaluations of launch vehicle and spacecraft loads for all flight phases.
• Develop simulation tools and processes to solve structural dynamics problems.
• Evaluate analytical predictions against flight data to improve methods.
• Plan and oversee mode survey testing and FE model correlation to test data.
• Conduct analyses for a broad range of dynamic problems requiring coordination across disciplines.
• Provide technical support to program offices and external customers in structural dynamics.
