Actalent is seeking a Structural Drafter in Portland, OR to create detailed structural drawings for commercial buildings using AutoCAD and Revit. You will work with design engineers to ensure drawings meet design intent and project standards.

In a mentorship-minded office, you will develop 3D BIM models, apply redlines, and help coordinate multiple projects while delivering accurate documentation and presentations.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting structural drawings for commercial buildings.
• Ability to interpret design concepts, sketches and engineer notes.
• Strong understanding of structural drafting principles and details.
• Experience creating 3D BIM models and coordinating with design engineers.

Responsibilities

• Draft structural plans, sections, and details for commercial building projects using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Interpret design concepts, sketches, and engineering notes to produce clear structural drawings.
• Collaborate with design engineers to refine drawings and ensure alignment with structural design intent.
• Apply redlines and markups to existing drawings, updating models and documentation as designs evolve.
• Develop and maintain 3D models and BIM documentation to support coordination and visualization.
• Prepare diagrams and presentation drawings that effectively communicate structural designs.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards and codes as directed.
• Support multiple concurrent projects, managing drafting tasks and priorities in a timely manner.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards, workflows, and documentation practices.
• Participate in a mentorship-focused environment, learning new tools and techniques to advance drafting skills.
