Job summary

Snelling Huntsville in Huntsville, AL is seeking an AutoCAD drafter with strong Revit experience to join a growing structural engineering firm. The role focuses on producing structural construction documents and coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of Revit, Revit Structure, and AutoCAD experience, plus familiarity with structural systems. You will manage multiple projects with accuracy and teamwork in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• At least 2 years experience in the design of commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial projects using Revit
• Strong working knowledge of Revit Structure and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with structural steel, concrete, masonry, light-gauge steel, and wood-framed construction
• Ability to manage multiple project simultaneously
• High level of accuracy and attention to details
• Ability to work collaboratively, have excellent communication and teamwork skills
• This position requires occasional lifting and carrying of up to 40 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and frequently stooping and bending

Duties

• Developing structural construction documents -- Produce Revit models and AutoCAD drawings from engineer markups, sketches, calculations, and design concept.
• Coordinate models and resolve conflicts -- Coordinate structural models with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines; identify inconsistencies and constructability issues before documents are issued; communicated issues early and collaborate with project engineers to develop solutions
• Maintain Company CAD/BIM standards -- Follow and help improve company drafting standards, Revit templates, families, detail libraries, and sheet organization; ensure drawings are complete, organized, and consistent across projects
• Support project delivery -- Work closely with project engineers throughout design development and construction document production; incorporate engineer redlines accurately and efficiently; assist with revisions during permitting, bidding, and construction administration
• Contribute to continuous improvement -- develop proficiency in structural detailing, building systems, and construction practices; seek opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and Revit efficiencies; participate in training and continually expand technical knowledge and industry knowledge
• Review drawings for completeness and constructability before submission, taking ownership of drawing quality
