Job summary

SSOE's SEED Team is seeking a Structural Designer to develop, standardize, and optimize design packages for semiconductor tools and AMHS. You will translate vendor data into plan layouts using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring installation-ready designs that fit the fab layout.

Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, stay current with BIM workflows, and provide on-site observations when needed. This role offers hybrid work in Austin with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree in architectural or engineering design.
• 1–2+ years as a designer or drafter using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Industrial design experience (semiconductor, data centers, manufacturing) is a plus.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency; Revit experience is advantageous for structural design.
• On-site support for field measurements when required.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently interpret, extract and analyze vendors' technical documentation, design data, sketches, notes, and other input materials in English to prepare drawings and equipment layout on plan using AutoCAD.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to develop design templates, 3D models, drawing sheets, ensuring high accuracy and BIM coordination.
• Create and maintain AutoCAD drawing templates, blocks, and layer standards for semiconductor facility requirements.
• Stay current with Revit updates, BIM workflows, and emerging design technologies to drive innovation.
• Apply discipline-specific design standards, codes, and best practices.
• Works under minimum supervision; progress checked and reviewed upon completion.
• Stay organized with time management to multitask and meet design deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain excellent communication with project managers, leads, and other design disciplines; minimal external contact.
• Occasional on-site observations or field measurements to develop accurate designs.
