Job summary

SSOE's Tool Install division in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Structural Engineer to develop and engineer structural solutions for safe, code‑compliant tool installation in semiconductor fab environments. You will prepare calculations, 3D models, and drawings while coordinating with project managers and cross‑discipline teams.

Requirements include a PE license (AZ or reciprocity), 5+ years in similar facilities, and proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• Active PE license in Arizona or eligibility by reciprocity within six months; CA license is a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering experience in semiconductor/industrial/high‑tech facilities.
• Proficiency in Revit, BIM coordination workflows, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Strong experience in structural analysis, design calculations, and construction documents for equipment support and modifications.
• Proficiency with structural modeling, drafting/model review, and coordination tools in multidisciplinary delivery.
• Solid understanding of steel, concrete, anchorage, load transfer, and equipment support design in critical facilities.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and safety for semiconductor fab and tool installation.
• Ability to manage design coordination across disciplines and resolve technical issues quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for tool installation support systems in fab environments.
• Develop design calculations, load-path evaluations, and basis‑of‑design documentation.
• Prepare and review drawings, 3D models, details, and connection concepts for cleanrooms and utilities.
• Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, and cross‑discipline teams.
• Participate in design reviews, model coordination, and issue‑resolution sessions through design phases.
• Support clash resolution between structure and adjacent systems (piping, cable tray, anchors).
• Evaluate field conditions and incorporate site findings into revisions and installation strategies.
• Apply QA/QC procedures to calculations, drawings, and models.
• Track design changes and document impacts on scope, cost, constructability, and schedule.
• Mentor junior engineers and drafters; enhance technical judgment and coordination habits.
