Job summary

Socket.dev in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Structural Designer to develop and optimize design packages for semiconductor tool installations, bridging facility layouts with tool requirements.

You will use AutoCAD and Revit to create templates, 3D models, and drawing sheets while supporting BIM coordination across disciplines. The role requires field measurements on-site as needed and strong attention to design standards and codes.

Qualifications

• High school or associate degree in architectural/engineering design or drafting.
• 1–2+ years as a designer/drafter using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Experience in industrial design projects is a plus (Automotive, Manufacturing, Data Centers, Semiconductor).
• High efficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit (Structural design) is a strong plus.
• On-site support for field measurements when needed.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently interpret, extract and analyze technical documentation to prepare drawings and equipment layout using AutoCAD.
• Develop design templates, 3D models, and drawing sheets in AutoCAD and Revit for BIM coordination.
• Create and maintain AutoCAD drawing templates, blocks, and layer standards for semiconductor facilities.
• Stay current with Revit updates and BIM workflows to drive efficiency.
• Apply discipline-specific design standards, codes, and best practices.
• Work with minimal supervision, with progress checks and final reviews.
• Maintain time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Coordinate with project managers, leads, and other design disciplines; may have external contact.
• Provide on-site observations/field measurements as needed for accurate design.
