Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Structural Designer/EIT to work as part of a team on small to large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Structural EIT will assist in the plans and designs of structural engineering projects such as bridges and other transportation structures.

Responsibilities include aiding with construction contract documents, plans, and reports, interpreting drawings and codes, performing field work, and carrying out basic calculations using standard software.

Qualifications

• Assists with plans, designs and reports for structural projects.
• Under supervision of a Senior Engineer, supports transportation structures.
• Applies knowledge of bridges and transportation structures to project work.

• Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and similar materials.

• Assists with engineering duties on projects of varying complexity.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature as assigned.

Your Opportunity

The role of a Structural Designer/EIT is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Structural EIT will work under close supervision of a Senior Engineer to assist on plans and designs of structural engineering projects such as bridges and other transportation structures.

A Structural Designer/EIT will perform a variety of tasks which may include assisting with the plans and designs of structures and facilities such as bridges, highway interchanges, roadway reconstruction, subway stations, railroad infrastructure and public spaces.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering of bridges and other transportation structures
• Assists team in preparing construction contract documents, plans and reports
• Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials
• Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer
• Performs basic calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
• Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
