Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Structural EIT to join our team in Las Cruces, NM. The role focuses on independent work on smaller projects under supervision, performing structural analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.

You'll collaborate with architects and other engineers, support construction administration activities, and help advance design standards while delivering high-quality results for clients on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations and drawings for small projects under Senior Engineer’s guidance

• Communicate design issues with the design team and owner clients
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods
• Work within project scope, budgets, and deliver projects on time

Your Key Responsibilities

The role of a Structural EIT is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural EIT will be able to perform structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems. Additional responsibilities include:

• Complete calculations and drawings for small projects under Senior Engineer’s guidance
• Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines
• Perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients.
• Understand industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service
• Assist with development of design standards
