Job summary

Actalent in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Structural Designer to prepare structural engineering and construction drawings using Autodesk Revit, under supervision. The role offers growth into CAD/BIM coordination, field visits, and a strong safety culture in office and field environments.

Develop design deliverables for concrete, steel, and foundations, review drawings, and support project teams with clear communication.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree related to Structural Technology.
• Experience using Autodesk Revit for structural design, drafting, and 3D modeling.
• Foundational knowledge of structural or foundation engineering concepts.
• Ability to apply fundamental engineering concepts and math formulas under supervision.
• Experience with concrete and steel structures and structural analysis concepts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural drawings for all project phases using Autodesk Revit under supervision.
• Adhere to quality management standards and client-specific drafting standards.
• Participate in CAD/BIM Coordinator Certification to build advanced skills.
• Serve as CAD/BIM Coordinator on selected projects and support model coordination.
• Review vendor drawings for compliance with contract documents.
• Visit job sites to gain field experience and understand on-site implementation.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture in office and field environments.
• Create and review structural design deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform structural calculations using accepted formulas under supervision.
• Develop detailing for steel, concrete, and foundation components.
