Job summary

Above Group, Inc. seeks a Structural Designer I to support the Engineering team on diverse projects. You will prepare CAD drawings, perform calculations, and translate concepts into detailed designs while aligning with project standards and client expectations.

You will review current codes, collaborate with engineers, and coordinate layout of distribution systems and equipment. The role emphasizes accuracy, strong communication, and timely completion in a remote, flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting and design or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience in structural/MEP design.
• Proficient AutoCAD and Revit; knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with healthcare engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review current building codes and stay updated on standards.
• Create CAD drawings and calculations under the direction of Engineers.
• Develop and implement design criteria and system designs from concept to construction.
• Work with Engineers to translate vision into drawings and designs.
• Coordinate layout of distribution systems and equipment with team members.
• Review submittals and attend site visits to understand project scope.
• Respond to RFIs and assist in design documentation.
• Attend meetings to ensure timelines and project concerns are addressed.
• Support business development through client engagement.
