Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a mid-level Structural Design Engineer to join a growing team supporting construction through innovative design, analysis, and drawings for power generation projects.

The role involves coordinating with cross-discipline teams, maintaining project plans and budgets, and ensuring safety and quality in design deliverables. Office locations include multiple US sites with remote-start options for some roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year program.
• At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering and design.
• Experience in the power industry or industrial markets is preferred.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and general computer operations.
• Knowledge of engineering standards: ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures, including research, lateral force resisting system selection, analysis, and drawing preparation for power projects.
• Apply department and industry standards to calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Meet EPC, RFP, and contract requirements.
• Research new markets and adapt processes to deliver project results.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners to address structural issues.
• Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Support department managers in achieving performance goals.
