Job summary
Kiewit Power Engineers is seeking a mid-level Structural Design Engineer to join our design engineering team. You will perform innovative structural design, calculations, and drawing preparation for power generation projects, while aligning with EPC contracts and client requirements.
Based in one of several U.S. offices, you will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, and help ensure safe, cost-effective solutions for our construction crews and clients in
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited four-year program in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering.
- 5+ years of structural engineering and design experience.
- Experience in power/industrial markets preferred.
- Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, word processing.
- SAP2000, SAFE, Mathcad preferred.
- Knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC.
- Professional Engineer license preferred.
- Strong written and verbal English communication.
Responsibilities
- Prepare designs for structures including analysis and drawings for power generation projects.
- Apply standards in calculations and drawings.
- Meet EPC, RFP, or contract requirements.
- Research new markets and adapt workflows to deliverables.
- Coordinate with cross-discipline teams, construction, vendors, and owners.
- Prepare and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Support department managers in achieving performance goals.
