Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our Design Engineering team. You will lead innovative structural design efforts, review calculations, mentor junior staff, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions for large-scale power projects.

Based in the Richmond, VA area or other listed offices, this role emphasizes independent planning, adherence to codes, and proactive collaboration with field teams to ensure project

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
10–20 years of experience in Industrial or Power Generation.
Ability to train and lead a team.
Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
Effective cross-department communication.
Ability to work with field teams.
Continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Develops and checks less experienced engineers to solve design issues.
Identifies alternative solutions for quality and cost.
Leads projects with minimal supervision.
Reviews work and ensures compliance with codes and standards.
Plans work independently and consults others on technical details.
Mentors engineers and designers.
