Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer - E2 for the AMMM program to deliver innovative airframe structures and solve complex design challenges. You will apply technical expertise to create manufacturable designs and participate in design reviews with stakeholders.

Collaborating with stress, manufacturing, tooling and supply-chain teams, you will drive integration and ensure readiness for production, while leveraging CAD tools and configuration-management practices. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with CAD systems such as CATIA V5, NX, SolidWorks, CCD.
  • Familiar with aerospace design practices and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop airframe structure designs that meet customer requirements and standards.
  • Create preliminary layouts for installations, assemblies and parts.
  • Conduct design reviews and communicate progress with stakeholders.

You will be the Aeronautical Engineer - E2 for the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing for Military Aircraft (AMMM) program which is responsible for delivering innovative airframe solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aeronautical Engineer - E2 you will be responsible for applying technical expertise to solve complex aircraft design challenges and drive manufacturable, high-performance airframe structures.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Develop airframe structure designs that meet customer requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
  • Create preliminary layouts for installations, assemblies, and detailed parts.
  • Conduct design reviews and communicate progress with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with support organizations such as stress analysis, manufacturing, tooling, and supply-chain management to ensure successful implementation.
  • Support manufacturing operations and resolve technical issues related to aircraft structures.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering, or high school diploma with equivalent experience in an Engineering role.
  • Experience in CAD systems (e.g. CATIA V5, NX, SolidWorks, CCD etc.).
  • Experience with design

  • Familiarity with mod / kit design
  • Production line support experience
  • Familiarity with legacy aircraft programs and legacy drawing interpretation
  • Aerospace design experience with knowledge of configuration management techniques, drafting/drawing conventions, and aerospace specifications and procedures
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, people and team skills
  • Proven history of strong work habits and a positive attitude
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • C-130 experience
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
