Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA is seeking an Airframe Structural Design Engineer - Level 3 to advance aircraft structural solutions within the ADP program. You will deliver innovative designs, participate in trades, and coordinate with IPTs to meet performance and safety standards.

The role requires a US citizenship with an active Secret clearance and a strong background in airframe structure design using CATIA V5, GD&T, and BOM processes. A BS in engineering is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience in airframe structure design.
  • Experience with CATIA V5.
  • Experience with 2D drafting and 3D modeling of parts, assemblies, and GD&T.
  • Experience with BOM and drawing structure.
  • Experience with metallic design.
  • Experience with aircraft structural repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative structural designs that meet performance and safety standards.
  • Create and modify primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents.
  • Develop, test, and validate aircraft structural designs.
  • Generate system requirements, conduct trade studies, draft statements of work, and prepare test plans.
  • Coordinate with internal IPTs and interact with external IPTs and suppliers.

You will be the Airframe Structural Design Engineer - Level 3 for the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) which is responsible for advancing aircraft structural solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Airframe Structural Design Engineer - Level 3 you will be responsible for delivering innovative structural designs that meet rigorous performance and safety standards.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Create and modify primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents.

Develop, test, and validate aircraft structural designs.

Generate system requirements, conduct trade studies, draft statements of work, and prepare test plans.

Coordinate with internal Integrated Product Teams and interact with external IPTs and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience in airframe structure design
  • Experience with CATIA V5
  • Experience with 2D Drafting and 3D modeling of detail parts, assemblies, and GD&T
  • Experience with Bill of Materials and drawing structure
  • Experience with metallic design
  • Experience with aircraft structural repairs

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
