Job summary

Professional Engineering Consultants in Kansas City, MO seeks a Design Engineer to design for multiple projects using BIM/CAD tools and hand calculations. You will prepare design deliverables, ensuring compliance with PEC’s standards and building codes while coordinating with internal and external teams.

The role requires ABET-accredited degree, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Experience with design and calculations for building projects.
• Familiarity with codes and regulations; proficiency in design documents.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering design and coordinates documents per codes and PEC standards.
• Supports construction administration: submittals, site investigations, and RFIs under Project Engineer.
• Performs hand and computer-aided design and takeoff computations.
• Organizes multiple projects and tasks to meet schedules and PEC standards.
• Maintains project information and files per corporate practices.
• Communicates effectively with the Design Team to complete tasks on multiple projects.
• Other duties may be added at the company’s discretion.
