Job summary

Professional Engineering Consultants is seeking an Engineering Intern in Lawrence, KS to support design on multiple projects. You will perform engineering calculations and prepare design deliverables using BIM/CAD software, hand calculations, and computer-based analyses.

You will draft and model designs, coordinate with staff, and help produce construction documents compliant with codes. The role emphasizes organization, teamwork, and quality checks in a busy office environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
• Student entering junior or senior year preferred
• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred

Responsibilities

• Design calculations by hand and by computer software.
• Drafting/modeling of engineering design.
• Coordination with other design staff.
• Construction document and specification production in compliance with applicable building codes/design criteria.
• Reviews project deliverables for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
• Organize project information and files according to corporate standard practices and workflows.
