Job summary

RIMEPRO INC in the San Jose area seeks a Concrete Estimator to develop accurate, competitive estimates for structural concrete scopes from takeoffs through bidding and buyout.

You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients on large-scale projects, including those up to $200M, across commercial, civic, housing, and infrastructure sectors. These roles demand strong blueprint skills and cost-analysis capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating structural concrete.
• Strong blueprint and plan reading skills.
• Experience with concrete quantity takeoffs.
• Understanding of concrete construction means and methods.
• Ability to analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to visualize construction in 2D and 3D.
• Understanding of construction risk and value engineering.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills.
• Engineering or related technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for structural concrete scopes.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, and related scopes.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Quantify material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Evaluate project risks and identify opportunities to improve cost and execution.
• Develop competitive bids and proposals.
• Manage bid lists and coordinate with vendors and trade partners.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Identify value engineering opportunities.
• Assist with subcontractor buyout and procurement.
• Review subcontractor submittals.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to understand project phasing and execution.
• Participate in project meetings, client meetings, and jobsite reviews.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Stay current on new construction technologies, materials, and estimating practices.
