Job summary

RIMEPRO INC in Fresno, CA, seeks a Concrete Estimator with a strong background in structural concrete estimating to join our team. You will develop accurate, competitive estimates for structural concrete scopes from takeoffs through bidding and buyout, working closely with Project Managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.

You will analyze plans, quantify costs, evaluate risks, and identify opportunities to improve cost and execution on projects up to $200M.

Qualifications

3 to 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
Experience estimating structural concrete.
Strong blueprint and plan reading skills.
Experience with concrete quantity takeoffs.
Understanding of concrete construction means and methods.
Ability to analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Ability to visualize construction in 2D and 3D.
Understanding of construction risk and value engineering.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Engineering or related technical degree preferred.

Concrete Estimator | Structural Concrete

If you have a strong background in structural concrete estimating and want the opportunity to work on some of the Bay Area’s most significant construction projects, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

You’ll join a well established construction organization with a dedicated structural concrete division and a strong reputation throughout the Bay Area. With projects reaching $200M+, you’ll have the opportunity to estimate complex concrete scopes while working alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

This is a role for someone who enjoys the numbers but also understands how concrete projects actually get built.

What You’ll Do

As a Concrete Estimator, you’ll be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for structural concrete scopes from initial quantity takeoff through bidding and buyout.

Prepare detailed estimates for structural concrete scopes
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, and related scopes
Analyze plans, specifications, and construction documents
Quantify material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Evaluate project risks and identify opportunities to improve cost and execution
Develop competitive bids and proposals
Manage bid lists and coordinate with vendors and trade partners
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
Identify value engineering opportunities
Assist with subcontractor buyout and procurement
Review subcontractor submittals
Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to understand project phasing and execution
Participate in project meetings, client meetings, and jobsite reviews
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
Stay current on new construction technologies, materials, and estimating practices

The Projects

You’ll have the opportunity to work on large and complex structural concrete projects throughout the Bay Area, with project values reaching up to $200M.

The work provides exposure to major commercial, civic, housing, education, hospitality, infrastructure, seismic retrofit, and other complex construction projects.

Because the concrete division works closely with the general contracting operation as well as other Bay Area contractors, you’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of projects and construction partners.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an Estimator who understands structural concrete and can confidently take a project from plans to a complete and competitive estimate.

Ideal candidates will have:

3 to 5+ years of construction estimating experience
Experience estimating structural concrete
Strong blueprint and plan reading skills
Experience with concrete quantity takeoffs
Understanding of concrete construction means and methods
Ability to analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to visualize construction in 2D and 3D
Understanding of construction risk and value engineering
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Excellent attention to detail and organization
Engineering or related technical degree preferred
