Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a motivated Structural Bridge Engineer (PE) in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on design, drafting, and construction services for diverse structures including bridges and piers, with emphasis on concrete and structural steel.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of bridge-related design experience and a Civil Engineering degree with structural emphasis, plus US PE licensure. On-site collaboration and periodic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural design experience, including bridges
• US PE Licensure required
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design.
• Create construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Perform structural condition assessments of existing structures and write reports.
• Coordinate and work with other engineers during design.
• Communicate and interact with clients and contractors periodically, providing high levels of client service.
• Ensure project designs are completed in accordance with code requirements.
• Perform construction services, including reports, site visits and responding to contractor questions.
