Job summary

Thomas & Hutton in Columbia, SC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of diverse projects for public and private clients across the Southeast. You will mentor engineers, perform peer reviews, and ensure code compliance while delivering high-quality documentation.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, PE license, 8+ years of structural design experience, and proficiency with RISA, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus is required.
• PE license is required; SE certification is strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of structural design experience.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software and design of concrete, wood, steel and masonry.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for diverse projects (industrial to energy).
• Prepare construction documents including drawings in Revit and AutoCAD, calculations, and specs.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes and project standards.
• Perform condition assessments of existing structures and write detailed reports.
• Provide construction administration including site visits and submittal reviews.
• Coordinate with clients, PMs, and other design disciplines throughout delivery.
• Perform peer reviews of calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Mentor engineers and interns within the structural department.
• Manage project tasks to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
