Job summary

Thomas & Hutton in Charleston, SC, has an immediate opening for a motivated Structural Bridge Engineer (PE). The engineer will design, draft, and provide construction services for bridges and related structures across multiple markets.

Responsibilities include producing drawings and specs, conducting condition assessments, coordinating with other engineers, and communicating with clients. A US PE license and 5+ years of bridge experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
US PE Licensure required.
5+ years of structural design experience, including bridges.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency drafting with Revit; AutoCAD experience preferred.
Experience with Excel or Mathcad, OpenBridge, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating or similar.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design.
Create construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
Perform structural condition assessments of existing structures and write reports.
Coordinate and work with other engineers during design.
Interact with clients and contractors, providing high levels of service.
Ensure designs comply with code requirements.
Perform construction services, including reports and site visits.
