Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Structural Analyst II to perform high‑fidelity structural and thermal analyses for SRM products, collaborating with design, manufacturing and test teams. You will develop and validate analytical models using ANSYS, Abaqus and NASTRAN, evaluate test data and support design reviews, failure investigations and continuous improvement.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who can translate complex data into actionable recommendations and help ensure reliability

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years in structural and thermal analysis of aerospace components.
• Experience with FEA and thermal modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-fidelity structural and thermal analyses for SRM components.
• Develop data-driven recommendations for geometry and materials.
• Create analytical models using standard software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN).
• Evaluate test data and correlate with analytical results.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to assess nonconforming hardware and dispositions.
• Support design reviews, failure investigations, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
