Ursa Major seeks a Structural Analyst II in Colorado to perform high-fidelity structural and thermal analyses for solid rocket motor components, collaborating with design, manufacturing and test teams to support development and production programs.

You will develop and validate analytical models using ANSYS, Abaqus and NASTRAN, interpret test data, propose design improvements, and prepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders, including participation in design reviews and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in structural and thermal analysis of aerospace components.
• Proficiency in FEA and thermal modeling tools.
• Understanding of material properties and high-temperature structural behavior.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and test data.
• Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-fidelity structural and thermal analyses for SRM components.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams.
• Develop and validate analytical models using ANSYS, Abaqus and NASTRAN.
• Evaluate test data and correlate with analytical models.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews and failure investigations.
• Support process optimization and disposition of nonconforming hardware.
