Job summary

Ursa Major seeks an experienced Staff Structural Analyst to ensure the performance and reliability of SRM products. You will work with design, manufacturing, and test teams, conducting high-fidelity structural analyses and providing data-driven recommendations for component geometry, material selection, and thermal protection systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8+ years of structural analysis experience in aerospace.
• Proficiency with FEA using commercial codes.
• Experience in thermal-structural static analysis.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and test data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform FEA for structural integrity, thermal performance, and dynamic behavior of SRM components.
• Conduct coupled thermal-stress analyses for extreme conditions.
• Provide data-driven recommendations on geometry, materials, and thermal protection systems.
• Develop/validate analytical models using ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN.
• Evaluate test data and correlate models with results.
• Mentor and coach analysis engineers to raise team capability.
• Prepare technical reports and participate in design reviews.
