Job summary

Ursa Major in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Structural Analyst II to perform high-fidelity structural and thermal analyses for solid rocket motor components. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to support development, qualification and production programs.

You will perform FEA, develop models with ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN, evaluate test data, and prepare technical reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of structural and thermal analysis experience in aerospace.
• Proficiency with FEA and thermal analysis tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and test data.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-fidelity structural and thermal analyses for SRM components.
• Conduct FEA for structural integrity and dynamic behavior.
• Develop data-driven design recommendations on geometry and materials.
• Create analytical models using ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN.
• Evaluate test data and correlate with models.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to assess nonconforming hardware.
• Prepare technical reports and documents for stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews, failure investigations, and improvements.
