Job summary

Cerebra Consulting Inc. is seeking a senior aerospace structural stress analyst for an onsite North Charleston, SC role. You will perform lead-level analysis on aircraft systems, guiding design and certifying with regulators while mentoring junior engineers.

The candidate should have a BS in engineering and 9+ years in aerospace stress analysis, with interiors or structures experience highly preferred. 12-month contract with possible extension in an onsite setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering with focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials sciences.
  • 9+ years of aerospace experience (Level 4: 9+ years; Level 3: 5+ years).
  • Strong background in structural and/or stress analysis.
  • Aerospace experience preferred; interiors or structures experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lead-level stress analysis on aircraft systems commodities.
  • Utilize classical hand analysis, Finite Element tools, and Dynamic Simulation methods for stress analysis.
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead development of test plans, support test execution, and analyze results to verify requirements.
  • Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish system design.
  • Define and document certification and test results for customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Mentor and train developing team members.

Job description

Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 Months (Potential to Extend)
MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Typically looking for candidates with 9–10+ years of aerospace experience
  • Strong background in Structural Analysis and/or Stress Analysis .
  • Aerospace engineering experience preferred.
  • Aircraft interiors or aircraft structures experience highly preferred.
Role Overview

This position involves performing aircraft structural stress analysis for a leading aerospace organization. The role requires evaluating designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance while supporting aircraft development, production, and engineering activities. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and contribute to the growth of the engineering capability, with senior engineers expected to mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform lead-level stress analysis on aircraft systems commodities.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.

Experience:
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience, 3+ years in stress analysis on airplane systems, and 1+ year using classical hand analysis methods.
  • Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience, 5+ years in stress analysis on airplane systems, and 3+ years using classical hand analysis methods.
Technical Skills:
  • Experience in aircraft stress analysis and the aerospace industry.
  • Background in structural analysis engineering.
  • Experience supporting aircraft structures, heavy structures, hardware systems, or interiors manufacturing/production systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a Level 4 engineer.
  • Experience leading the development of certification-related documentation.
  • Prior mentoring or leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience leading structural test programs on airplane systems commodities.
  • Experience with supplier technical oversight.
  • 7+ years of experience with airplane systems structures such as Avionics, Electrical Equipment & Installation, Environment Control Systems, Flight Controls, Flight Deck, Fuel Systems, and Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems.
