Job summary

Boeing North Charleston, SC is seeking an Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Stress Liaison team. You will lead structural requirements, collaborate with engineering groups, and validate designs to ensure safety and performance across the lifecycle.

This role emphasizes development of analytical methods, FE models, test plans, and certification documentation. Candidates should have a strong background in metallic and composite structures, plus experience in production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials)
  • 9+ years of structural analysis engineering experience
  • 5+ years in structural analysis of metallic and composite structures
  • Experience with aircraft or heavy structures manufacturing/production systems

Responsibilities

  • Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the structural repair strategy.
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models/analysis and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Works under minimal direction.

787 Airframe in Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring for Experienced Structural Analysis Engineers for our Stress Liaison team to work at our North Charleston, SC location.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the structural repair strategy.
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 9+ years of structural analysis engineering related work experience or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience performing structural analysis on metallic structures and composite material systems
  • Prior Experience with aircraft or heavy structures manufacturing or production systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Prior experience working as a Lead Stress Liaison Engineer in a production environment
  • Lead Engineer experience advising, assisting, and checking classical hand analysis
  • Lead Engineer experience advising, assisting, and checking FE Models and Analysis results
  • Experience collaborating with production/manufacturing technician team members to solve complex technical problems

Summary pay range: $126,650 - $171,350
