Job summary

Boeing in North Charleston, SC is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Analysis Engineer on the Stress Liaison team to contribute to the 787 Airframe program and to help ensure structural integrity across the lifecycle.

You will develop requirements, perform FEA, coordinate with production and engineering, design test configurations, and document certifications for customers and regulators; relocation available and 1st shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials)
• 5+ years of structural analysis experience
• 3+ years in metallic structures and composite materials analysis
• Experience with production/manufacturing systems

• Guides product design and verifies structural integrity using analytical methods and FEA.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the structural repair strategy.
• Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
• Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
• Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
• Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
• Works under general direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• 5+ years of structural analysis engineering related work experience or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience
• 3+ years of experience performing structural analysis on metallic structures and composite material systems
• Prior Experience with production systems in manufacturing or engineering capacity

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Ability to apply classical hand analysis methods
• Ability to perform FEA and understand/utilize/validate results
• Experience collaborating with production/manufacturing technician team members
• Prior experience working as a Stress Liaison Engineer in a production environment

Summary pay range: $103,700 - $140,300
