Job summary

Commerce City is seeking an entry-level Streets Operations Technician to support maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, bridges, and drainage systems. You will receive hands-on training while contributing to a safe, well‑maintained community.

A valid Colorado driver’s license is required, with CDL Class B and Flagger certification pursued within the specified timeframes. Hiring salary is dependent upon experience, with a range of $23.51 to $26.12 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; municipal maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license required.
• Must obtain CDL Class B within three months of hire and maintain it during employment.
• Flagger certification required within one year of hire and to be maintained during employment.
• Equivalency of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair streets, sidewalks, bridges, and drainage systems.
• Assist in the operation and upkeep of municipal infrastructure.
• Support safety protocols and traffic management during projects.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required; some municipal maintenance experience preferred. Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license. Must obtain a Commercial Driver's License Class "B" within three months of date of hire and maintain during the course of employment. Flagger certification is required within one year of hire and must be maintained during the course of employment. Other applicable certifications may be required at City expense. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
