In this hands‑on role, you’ll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signal systems, street lighting, and related electrical and electronic equipment across the city. From programming traffic signal controllers and detection systems to responding to outages and emergency repairs, your work will have a direct, visible impact on the community every single day.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by college‑level or military coursework or other signal industry‑recognized training in traffic engineering or electronics/electrical technology.
  • Two years of experience in the field of traffic signal maintenance.
  • Must possess Utility Line Locator Certification from a reputable organization or the ability to obtain certification within two years of employment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license and IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician Certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
