Job summary

The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking a Maintenance Worker I – Streets to join the Public Works Department. This full-time role (~40 hours/week) reports to the Streets Supervisor and offers opportunities for growth within the department.

The position focuses on operating and maintaining the City's storm drainage systems and streets, with on-call responsibilities after hours and during snow plowing. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED and relevant experience or education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Some experience working with public works systems or general construction; or an equivalent combination of job-related education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect public streets and coordinate street maintenance.
• Set forms, pour and finish concrete and rake asphalt for streets and sidewalks.
• Operate light vehicles and equipment for maintenance and snow plowing.
• Maintain drainage systems and monitor during storms to remove blockages.
• Comply with codes and regulations related to storm drain maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and operate heavy machinery as needed.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and snow events.
• General maintenance of public facilities as assigned.
