Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. seeks an Assistant Division Manager to support the Public Works Operations Division, overseeing street, drainage, and landscape/irrigation maintenance with a focus on efficiency and compliance.

You will supervise staff, manage performance, and collaborate on long-term strategic plans with divisional leadership, while directing daily operations and coordinating with other departments and agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business, public administration, or technical field and 3 years’ experience in street/drainage/irrigation maintenance or related operations; or equivalent education/experience
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficiency with computers and work management software
• Knowledge of MUTCD
• Willingness and ability to be available for emergency response
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of streets, drainage, landscape and irrigation maintenance activities with strategic guidance to Operations Supervisors
• Assist in coordinating and implementing strategic business plans, annual work plans, and maintenance programs; monitor divisional expenditures
• Oversee maintenance activities via the work management system and ensure proper equipment/personnel use
• Review work orders; assist in inventory control and coordinating contractor services
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and BMPs; support procedures across programs
• Conduct field inspections and resolve issues related to construction, repairs, and citizen inquiries
• Coordinate with other departments and external agencies during projects and emergencies
• Prepare and maintain records, reports, schedules, and documentation for planning and decisions
• Possibly assume acting Division Manager duties when required
