Job summary

City of Beaverton is seeking a Street Technician to support DOT-covered, full-time Public Works operations. You will set up traffic-control zones, assist with street paving, operate construction equipment, and help maintain roads, sidewalks, and ADA ramps to keep our city safe and reliable.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least three years in street maintenance, and a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 360 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in operations, installation, construction, repair, and maintenance of street structures, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet city driving standards; Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 360 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up traffic-control safety zones and perform flagging.
• Assist Equipment Operators in maintaining and operating construction equipment.
• Rake and shovel asphalt, pave streets, and repair sidewalks and curbs.
• Construct and repair concrete roads, sidewalks, gutters, and ramps adhering to standards.
• Maintain bridges, ditches, and pedestrian/bike paths; remove graffiti and fix hazards.
• Conduct inspections, document repairs, and assist with walk-throughs and final inspections.
• Respond to emergencies; be available for after-hours responses as needed.
