Job summary

The City of Beaverton is seeking a Street Technician to support Public Works by safely setting up traffic-control zones, supporting paving and construction projects, and operating a range of construction equipment. You’ll help ensure streets, sidewalks, and routes are reliable for all users.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and three years of related experience; a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement is required within 360 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in operations, installation, construction, repair, and maintenance of street structures or equivalent.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Set up traffic control safety zones and perform flagging.
• Assist equipment operators with construction equipment maintenance and operation.
• Rake and shovel asphalt; assist street paving and construction.
• Construct and repair concrete roads, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and ADA ramps.
• Maintain bridges, ditches, and pedestrian/bike paths; address safety hazards.
• Conduct inspections and document repairs; communicate with engineering and project leads.
• Respond to emergency situations as needed.
