Job summary

The City of Beaverton is seeking a Street Technician to support the public works team and keep roadways safe and functional. You will set up traffic control zones, assist with street construction, and operate a variety of construction equipment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of relevant experience in street maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CDL-B with air brake endorsement required within 360 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience in operations, installation, construction, repair, and maintenance of street structures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up traffic control safety zones and perform flagging to ensure traffic safety.
• Assist Equipment Operators in maintaining and operating construction equipment (excavators, asphalt pavers).
• Rake and shovel asphalt, seal street cracks; operate loaders, backhoes, dump trucks and other equipment as needed.
• Construct, maintain, and repair concrete roads, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and ADA ramps.
• Maintain bridges, ditches, and pedestrian/bike paths; repair damaged infrastructure and hazards.
• Conduct inspections, document repairs, and assist with walkthroughs and final inspections.
• Respond to emergency situations; may shift to after-hours rotation as needed.
• Refer to Public Works Technician class specification for additional duties.
