Job summary

The City of Beaverton is hiring a Utility Technician in the Public Works Storm Maintenance Division. This full‑time, non‑exempt, SEIU‑classified and DOT‑covered position involves hands‑on utility work, traffic control, and equipment operation to protect waterways and maintain storm systems.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination. CDL‑B and OEQ duties apply. Wager range: see pay notes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of experience in operations, installation, construction, repair, and maintenance of street structures.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair utility lines; set up traffic control zones.
• Assist equipment operator with operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in maintenance and installation of Vegetated Water Quality Facilities.
• Set up shoring and enter confined spaces; document entries.
• Update GIS maps and field records with new or deficient information.
• Be available for emergency response with minimal notice.
