Job summary

City of Hastings is seeking a candidate to operate a variety of equipment in the maintenance, repair and construction of city streets, sidewalks, buildings and other municipal facilities. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and the potential need for a Class B CDL with tank endorsement within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience operating light or medium construction equipment or trucks preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with Class B CDL and tank endorsement may be required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to perform maintenance, repair and construction activities.
• Assist in patching and concrete repairs of city streets and sidewalks.
• Perform snow and debris removal including sanding and salting streets.
• Drive trucks of various sizes for loading, hauling, and unloading equipment and materials.
• Perform labor as part of a crew on construction and maintenance projects.
• Respond to emergencies or snow events as required.
